Our mission:

No Mum Walks Alone

The Problem: A crisis in connection

While having a baby can be a magical joyful experience - for many mums, the newborn bubble can quickly feel like four walls closing in. The complete identity shift, the relentless cycle of feeds, burps, and naps, which are often paired with long, lonely nights, can steal the sunlight right out of early motherhood.

This isn't just a bit of tiredness; this deep sense of isolation is a breeding ground for mums who go on to develop Postpartum Depression (PPD). Social isolation is a major risk factor for developing PPD - because when connection with the outside world shrinks, and the village of support feels miles away, the risk of PPD spike.

Our research found that traditional services like council-run mothers’ groups can be a bit of a lottery system - leaving many mothers behind. While online friendship apps are too intimidating, leaving mums feeling lost when it comes to how to find local connections.

Our Solution: Mum Walk, making early-motherhood feel good again!

At Mum Walk, we're committed to reducing motherhood isolation, one step at a time. Our core mission is the proactive prevention of Postpartum Depression through nature-based, social and movement programs.

We provide the tools, technology and support for mums to start their own social pram walks.

Our purposefully designed walks are an antidote for mums to promote better mental health outcomes. Our program is designed for mums to:

  • Be out in nature: Swap the four walls for fresh air and green spaces, nature's own mood booster, scientifically proven to lift spirits.

  • Find their village: Forge real, honest connections with other women navigating the same sleep-deprived, love-soaked journey. This isn't polite small talk; it's finding your people.

  • Speak their stories: Share the messy, unfiltered reality of motherhood – the triumphs and the tears – in a space free from judgment, where "I'm not okay" is met with understanding.

  • Gentle movement: Rediscover the simple joy of movement, learning to feel good in our bodies again post birth and getting in those feel-good hormones - endorphins!

The Results: Real Stories from the Ground We Walk

This isn't just theory; it's the lived experience of the mums who walk with us every week. The science backs it up too: research shows that social pram walking groups is more effective at fending off the blues of postnatal depression than static, centre-based support alone.

And it’s working! Mums consistently tell us they feel a shift in their mental health after attending a Mum Walk.

“After developing PPD with my first, I knew I had to do things differently with my second.

Having access to Mum Walk completely transformed my postpartum experience. Knowing every week I had another mum to walk and talk with was a total game-changer for my mental health postpartum.”
