The reality is that the majority of mums wait until they are in a total crisis to ask for help, often because they feel they should be able to "just handle it."
At Mum Walk, we want to change that. Seeking support early isn’t a sign that you’re failing; it’s a proactive way to protect your health and your family. PPD and PPA are clinical conditions, not character flaws.
The sooner you recognize the signs, like constant worry, feeling disconnected, or intrusive thoughts, the sooner you can get the right tools to manage them. You don’t need to wait for a "rock bottom" moment to reach out. Your mental health is a priority, and there are clear, professional pathways ready when you are.

“From a Clinical Psychology perspective, social connection is one of the strongest protective factors against postnatal depression and anxiety. The early months of parenting can be profoundly isolating. A group like Mum Walk provides regular, low-pressure opportunities for new mothers to feel seen, heard and understood — and that sense of belonging is powerful medicine”

More Than a Walk: Our Approach to Keeping Mums Well
At Mum Walk, we believe that connection is essential postpartum care. While our weekly walks look like a simple stroll in the park, they are actually a vital "safety net" for Aussie mums. We know that the transition to motherhood is a high-risk window for mental health; with 1 in 5 mums facing postpartum depression or anxiety (PPD/PPA), we don’t wait for a diagnosis to start supporting you.
Our mission is the prevention and control of these conditions. By getting mums out of the house and into a supportive community, we are directly tackling the biggest risk factor for PPD: social isolation. We’re here to intercept the "loneliness epidemic" before it becomes a crisis. Through gentle movement, fresh air, and real-talk connection, we’re building a protective shield around your mental health—one step at a time.
